Armin is a first-year at the University of California, Irvine. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Armin lived San Jose, California until he moved to Irvine in 2005. He has lived in Irvine, California ever since.
He is the son of immigrants from Iran, and is of Persian decent. He hopes to learn about all of the different cultures and histories involved with empire and the ruins that come with those empires. He feels that he can bring a unique perspective to the class and material by being a Persian-American, and having some background knowledge of the ruins of the Persian empire, having visited and experienced it firsthand.
Throughout this blog, I will be tracing technology and its effects on Empire. As a prospective computer science student, I thought it would be interesting to relate my major to the writing I will be doing for this course. I am excited to find the connections between classical works and the present day tech world, and relate that to what is being taught in the class.
